Quick-Turn

RD Racing Quick-Turn

Introduction

It's obvious that the Traxxas Revo is one of the most race-ready monster trucks to hit the market. However when compared against some classes, such as 1/8 scale buggies, the Revo still tends to exhibit more truck-like characteristics when it comes to handling. To combat this RD Racing Products, which is well known for their top quality Nitro Rustler parts, has come up with a unique product which is poised to give the Revo a whole new set of handling characteristics.

The product is the Quick-Turn, and it functions similar to a one-way differential in a touring car. When the Revo is moving forward the Quick-Turn is providing power to the front wheels in a normal fashion. However when the brakes are applied the front driveshaft spins freely, preventing the braking action from transferring to the front wheels. With the braking action of the truck being isolated to the rear wheels, the handling "push" that four wheel drive trucks often exhibit as they are braking into a corner is eliminated. However, since the Quick-Turn replaces the driveshaft of the Revo, you can still tune the front differential with diff oil just as you normally would.

The Quick-Turn itself is made of blue anodized aluminum and, like any other RD Racing part I've come across, is built with strict attention to fit and detail. It encapsulates a Traxxas one-way bearing which fits around a hardened steel shaft, a combination that should provide a very tough and durable platform. This close tolerance of the two halves of the Quick-Turn should keep the one-way bearing and its shaft clean as well. The Quick-Turn replaces the front driveshaft completely, but it still utilizes the stock transmission and differential yokes, as shown in the picture above. So you'll need to switch the stock yokes over to the Quick-Turn during the installation.
