RC Raven T-Maxx Roll Cage

Introduction

While racers look to shed weight, the hardcore basher will often add weight in an effort to further strengthen and protect their truck. One of the most highly sought after modifications for the hardcore basher is a full chassis rollcage, such as this one offered by RC Raven.

I've seen many takes on roll cages for various off-road trucks, and this one really stands out. The fact that it is constructed of 3/16 inch tubular steel, means that not only does it look like a real full-size rollcage but it is built to take some severe punishment as well. RC Raven could have considered aluminum tubing, but it would have formed a much weaker roll cage. So despite the fact that steel weighs a little more, it makes a much better choice for a roll cage than aluminum.

If weight is a concern, you should note that this roll cage will add 1 lb and 4.6 oz to your truck. If you want something lighter, RC Raven also offers a titanium version of their roll cage as well. RC Raven also give you a choice of several powder-coated finishes as they do with most of their products. They offer the rollcage in a total of 5 different colors:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Red
  • Silver

Not only do they offer a green option, which is hard to find, but it's the Grave Digger shade of green as well. So all you Digger fans looking to to turn your T-Maxx into a nitro version of one of the most popular monster trucks of all time, now have a very appealing chassis option as well. My chassis was power-coated in silver, and it looks great installed on my T-Maxx.
