MSJ Products Aluminum WheelsIntroduction
The wheels themselves are machined from forged 6061 T-6 aluminum, which makes for some strong wheels when the machining process is finished. However not only are the wheels strong, when you consider the aluminum used, they're very lightweight as well. At 2.8 oz each, they are slightly heavier than the stock Traxxas plastic wheels which weigh in at 2.0 oz each. However they are some of the lightest aluminum Maxx wheels I've come across.
The one caveat to the variable offset approach, was that MSJ did not pre-drill a hole in the rim. However this is for the best, so you can choose the location that suits you best for the offset you wish to use. The location of the hole will not affect performance, and is strictly located for looks. Obviously, you'll choose a location that would not be visible in the configuration you normally use the wheels in. So even though that having to drill a hole in the aluminum rim takes a little more effort, there's a solid reason behind MSJ's approach.
