Fullforce RC Dual Rate Maxx Springs

Introduction

Swapping the stock Maxx springs out for some that are of a different rate, is a task that's frequently done by many Maxx owners. While the stock springs are soft and provide decent performance for general driving, someone racing or jumping will often want to swap the springs for some of a higher spring rate. The bad thing is that the stiffer the spring, the more handling and traction can suffer.

Recently Fullforce RC has decided to enter the spring market to help provide an good affordable solution. The Fullforce springs provide a different amount of spring rate depending upon how far the spring is compressed. These springs are being offered in two versions, dual rate and triple rate. Between the two, you should be able to find one that suits your tastes. The dual and triple rates provide good handling and weight transfer at slower speeds, while still providing a stiff spring rate for high speeds and jumping.

You'll notice, upon close examination of a Fullforce spring, that the distance between the coils vary from one end to the other. This is how the spring offers a dual rate. The area where the gap between coils is larger, provides a stiffer spring rate. Once the spring compresses to a predefined point, the compression rate increases, and provides you a stiffer spring. This provides good handling and weight transfer at slower speeds, while still providing the stiff spring rate for high speeds and jumping. It's the best of both worlds.

The Fullforce RC springs come in a variety of colors. What I like about these springs, when compared to some other springs on the market, is that you can get either type of spring in any of their available colors. Most manufacturers use colors to identify their various spring rates, which makes matching colors difficult for those Maxx owners wanting their trucks to look as well as they perform. That's not the case with the Fullforce springs, as both their standard and dual-rate springs are all offered in the following colors.

  • Blue
  • Green
  • Purple
  • Red
  • Silver
  • Yellow

The Fullforce RC springs are designed to fit shocks that can use a stock size spring. This includes the majority of the shocks available for the Maxx.
