Replacing the Throttle Bellcrank BushingsThe Maxx comes stock with plastic bushings installed in the throttle bellcrank. At first these are fine, but over time they will wear and need replacement. Instead of using the stock plastic bushing as a replacement, you can use 5x8 bearings. You'll need 2 5x8 bearings such as these offered by Traxxas. Not only will this eliminate having to replace a worn bushing later, but you will be rewarded with a throttle bellcrank that operates much more smoothly. All you need to do is to remove the upper screw that holds the assembly together. Then pull the upper part of the throttle bellcrank off. The upper portion of the bellcrank has two white plastic bushings in it, both in recessed areas. The picture below shows the lower area, and a bushing that has been swapped for a bearing. The upper bushing is located on the opposite side of the upper portion of the bellcrank assembly as indicated in the picture below.
