Latest Happenings At Misbehavin-RC

Behind The Scenes

Well the month of August is behind us, and hopefully everyone had a Labor Day filled with off-road RC action, and not too many broken parts. The month of August brought some amazing traffic to the site. Part of which was due to the new video section however traffic in general increased as well. Even though I think the videos add a very nice touch to the site, I still like to be able to see that the majority of the site's purpose is still providing useful RC-related information for those hobbyists who want it.

August brought a total of 49,200 hits to the site, with a unique visitor count for the month of around 5,500. The numbers continue to grow steadily, and hopefully in the next few months the site will consistently be over the 50,000 hits a month mark. I feel that these numbers are very high, especially considering the fact that the site is based off of static content and doesn't have a forums section. Which, by the way, I have no plans of offering. This is due to the fact there are plenty of forums available on the internet, and therefore that genre is well covered.

You may also notice I don't participate in the "Top 10" lists and sites of that nature. I feel as if they offer nothing but pop-ups, "click to vote for me" links, and other useless items that detract from a site as a whole. I rely on content that is useful and easily found using most search engines, and in many cases people linking to the site from the various RC forums found on the internet. Which, by the way, feel free to link to the site in that manner. As it just brings another resource to hobbyists just like yourself.

So the fact I use none of the methods mentioned above, but yet people still return to the site just re-enforces the fact that the information found here is useful, and that makes all the effort worthwhile. So to all you old-timers, who have visited for quite some time now, thanks. I'll also extend a big thank you to everyone who has recently found the site as well. If you have a friend who is into RC, make sure you pass the site along to them if you find it useful, as my goal is to try to help make this hobby as enjoyable for as many people as I possibly can.

One final thing before we move on. If you have stumbled upon this site using a search engine, or a link provided on another site, you may want to consider being included on the mailing list. This mailing list will notify you when the site is updated, and contains a link to the latest issue of the Full Throttle section which covers the most recent updates and news regarding the site. If you wish to be included on this mailing list, you can e-mail me at eric@misbehavin-rc.com and send me the e-mail address you wish to register with. All notifications will keep your e-mail address private from others, as I respect your right to do so. Also your e-mail address will not be distributed to any other parties, as this list of addresses will never be stored on any free hosting solution. I respect your privacy and do not condone the activities of spammers.

Latest Updates

This update has really been in the works, in skeletal form, for quite some time. It was originally intended to be part of the last update. However I felt the need to push it back, and get the other update up before polishing up the items in this round of updates. You may notice that now there is a product reviews section to the site. This is the biggest change to the site with this update. I wanted some way to offer my impressions with various upgrades and items I've used, and will use in the future.

Just as with any review you'll find anywhere, the review is based off of my experiences and impressions of the product. As you will also see after reading a few of the reviews, I'm not about covering up a product's shortcomings. I'm here for the guy who spends his hard earned money on this hobby. It's the manufacturer's job to satisfy their customers, and if I'm not satisfied with the product my review will reflect that. No one ever wins by only discussing the good while ignoring the bad.

I've got several reviews up currently, with more in the works that will be added in future updates. My intention is to provide some general direction for someone who is getting ready to spend some of their hard earned money. Hopefully as more review get added over time, I'll accomplish this even more so.

While working on the Product Reviews section, I made a decision to remove the Tracks section. It gets very little use compared to the rest of the site, and is woefully outdated. I also no longer have the track that was shown in the section, and with only a few others pictured in that section I thought it was best to remove it. Maybe later it will resurface in a different form, but for now I think it doesn't offer as much to the site as it used to.

So with all of that having been said, I'll end this edition of Full Throttle. Be sure to check out the Product Reviews, because whether you run nitro or electric, you should find a product that interests you.

Until next time, keep on bashin'!!!
