Full ThrottleLatest Happenings At Misbehavin-RCBehind The Scenes Well things have settled down since the last update and the site outages should be behind us. However a few other things loom ahead, one of which may mean a small decrease in updates for the next few months, as my time will be divided yet again. In about 2 weeks, if not earlier, I'll once again have a newborn baby in the house. Mary is due at the end of the month, and all the preparations are ready as we await the arrival of a baby boy. However, don't worry a bit, as I still plan to to stay as active as possible with this hobby and site. It helps me keep my sanity in this wild and hectic world. With the month of May 2003 now behind us forever, I have compiled the page requests for that month. Once again the number has increased over the previous months and for the month of May the site served 38,428 pages to visitors looking for information regarding RC trucks. So again the upward trend continues, and hopefully everyone who visited found the information they needed. You may also notice that along those same lines the counter has been moved. It now shows up on every page, and tallies up hits from anywhere on the site. I made this change last week, and even though counters can be inaccurate, I thought this made better sense as it's a little more relative to what the server logs record.
Latest Updates There's only two articles that's been added this time around, both of which are directed towards the Maxx trucks. I've been sitting on the pictures for these articles for a while and wanted to go ahead and get them on the site even though I didn't really have any other articles ready to add with them in an update. The first talks about properly setting the Maxx bumpers to absorb an impact and prevent broken bulkheads. Too many people are wrongly under the assumption that you should completely tighten the bumpers down. The second new article is a brief discussion regarding the replacement RPM suspension arms for the Maxx trucks. These arms are a great upgrade option. However, unless you are aware of a key difference in the way you install these pieces, you may find yourself heading back to the hobby store because you're short a few 3mm nuts. There's also been a few other cosmetic upgrades to the site. The first being a slightly new design and logo at the top of the pages. Another change is that the multi-page articles now use hyperlinks instead of a Java pickbox to toggle between pages. I just felt it was time for a minor facelift in those areas.
Latest Purchases I haven't made any big purchases for my truck lately, but I have unloaded one item in the past few days. I airbrushed another Hummer H2 flag body similar to Zac's current T-Maxx body and sold it on eBay. The winning bid was right at $77.00, and it should shortly be arriving on the doorstep of it's new owner. With that in mind, and the fact I have a few creative ideas that haven't been used yet, I've picked up three more bodies to paint and put on eBay. They are an HPI El Camino, Pro-Line Hummer H2, and a Pro-Line Dodge Ram. Hopefully, time permitting, I'll get some coats of paint on these bodies and be able to turn around and purchase a few more.
Until next time, keep on bashin'!!!
