Latest Happenings At Misbehavin-RC

Behind The Scenes

Christmas has come and gone and I hope everyone received everything on their wish list. I know I received several things, some of which I'll get to in a minute. However one of these I want to mention before I go any further. My parents used to make painted Christmas ornaments to sell at craft shows when I was younger. Although they stopped participating in craft shows many years ago, they still make ornaments for the family as part of their Christmas present. This year, due to the amount of time we spend running or RC trucks, they thought a RC monster truck ornament would be appropriate.

I thought the ornament turned out so well that I decided to place mine on an ornament hanger located on my desk. This way it adds to the decor year-round. Hey, it's even jumping!!

We also started working on getting Dylan started into the hobby this Christmas as well. He received his very first RC, at the age of 6 months. While it's not nitro powered, and substantially slower than our electric Stampedes, the Little Tikes Goofy Giggles should put him on the correct path!!

Right after Christmas, traffic to the site rose substantially, so it looks like there's a lot of people who received a RC truck for Christmas and were looking for ideas or a way to overcome an issue they had. Either way, I certainly hope they found what they were looking for, and wish them the best of luck as they begin their journey into this hobby.

As for me, you may notice that my T-Maxx has some new shoes. I opted for Mashers, even though I had considered waiting to check out the new Losi Zombie tires that will be hitting the market soon. I just couldn't wait and went with the tried and true Maxx Mashers. Other items joining the after-Christmas installation was a set of aluminum throttle servo mounts, a Hardcore Racing aluminum throttle bell crank, Dynamite Steering Bell cranks, and of course a new body that I painted to replace my retiring Jeep CJ8. If everything goes well with the Hardcore Racing bell crank, I'll be posting an article on it soon. It took some modifications to make it work, but with it and the aluminum servo mounts, I'm trying to reduce some of the play in the throttle and braking system. Hopefully my idea will pan out well.

Latest Updates

I took the majority of December off, so I didn't have to worry about working on any updates over the Christmas holiday. However once January rolled around, I got busy. There's been a lot going on behind the scenes, and quite a bit has been added or updated to the site. So I'll give you a quick rundown.

If you glance through the review section, you may notice several new reviews have been added. Probably the most anticipated review is the one for the Motor Saver 2.5. This filter is an often recommended replacement for many nitro motors. You'll find my thoughts and discoveries on it, in my review. Other reviews that I've finished and published to the site are for the Swami-RC screw kit, and the Y-Factor work stand by Extreme Standz. I've also added a long-term follow-up on the RD Logics CVD's to further explain some things I've come across since doing the initial review.

In the Garage section of the site, I've updated the details of our trucks with any upgrades we have added on recently. There's also some pictures of my new F-350 truck body, that replaced the Jeep body, and some pictures of my dad's Sport-Trac body that I painted as part of his Christmas.

In the Paint Shop you'll notice several changes and updates. First of all the section has been reorganized some. This was to accommodate a new section with several downloadable paint masks. These masks are some of the designs I've created and been using for myself. I've placed them in .pdf files so that you can download them and print them out. This way you can use them when painting your trucks as well. You'll also find information regarding two bodies I painted recently, a Ford F-350 and Explorer Sport-Trac.

Another area that underwent several changes and additions was the Images area. I've reorganized the Wallpaper section, and you'll find two new wallpaper pictures to pick from. Both are of my T-Maxx sporting the new F-350 body, I decided that since the truck was clean a good photo shoot made sense. Several of the pictures turned out very well, and I decided to turn them into some more wallpaper options for anyone looking for something to spice up their computer.

Finally in the Pit Lane area of the site, you may notice several additions as well. I've added articles on improving the T-Maxx brakes, and an article on how to dye nylon parts with RIT dye. Over Christmas I also organized my entire RC arsenal, and dedicated the closet in my home office to my ever growing collection. The idea was originally suggested by my wife, who made it possible. Soon after the closet was emptied, I had thrown up several shelf organizers and turned it into RC heaven.

With all of that being said, I'm through with this issue of Full Throttle. See you guys in the next update!!!

Until next time, keep on bashin'!!!
